Trustee Director

Elma joined Law Debenture in 2022. She is a qualified, professional trustee with 17 years’ experience working with co-trustees, sponsors and service providers to ensure plans are well governed and delivering for members and employers.  She is already working with eight clients, both defined benefit and defined contribution, on business as usual, IORP II implementation and transitions to master trusts.

Prior to joining Law Debenture in her role as Independent Professional trustee she worked with numerous group pension schemes, including chairing a number of trustee boards and sub-committees. She also acted as professional trustee to one member pension arrangements, non-pension trusts and share schemes. Her work has included IORP II implementation programs, valuation and funding proposal negotiations, scheme consolidations, including as part of sponsor M & As, benefit reviews, wind ups and restructurings.

Her approach is to work collaboratively with co-trustees, employers, service providers and regulators to deliver in the interest of members and ensure a high governance standards.

She is a Past President, and current Council Member, of the Irish Institute of Pensions Management working with the Council to provide high quality education and CPD to pension professionals. She is also a Member of the Benefits Committee, and past Council member, of the Irish Association of Pension Funds. She regularly participates in industry events, contributing to the development of the industry.
