Sonel is a professional trustee at Law Debenture with a background in risk management and actuarial consulting in both public and private sectors.

As well as being a trustee of several schemes at Law Debenture, Sonel is part of the Corporate Sole Trustee team, sits on delegated committees, and holds the role of peer trustee.

Prior to joining Law Debenture she spent two years as a company-nominated pension scheme trustee of a hybrid scheme, sitting on its Administration and Risk, and Member Communications committees. She was also a voting member of steering committees, forums, and working groups, the first point of contact for schemes involved in TUPE transfers, and has headed up the actuarial resourcing team.

Sonel has GARP qualifications in Sustainability, Climate and Risk (SCR) and Financial Risk Management (FRM), and qualified as an Associate of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Further to her professional career, Sonel is a founding trustee of a UK-based human rights charity, has spoken on panels in Parliament and at events for legal bodies and community groups, and is a published author, including co-authoring a paper on State Pension Age for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

In her leisure time, Sonel enjoys playing bridge, backgammon, and learning Korean.
