Lok joined LawDeb in 2023, and is currently Trustee for four pension schemes with both DB and DC arrangements.

Lok’s strengths include effective communication, collaborative problem solving, and a clear-headed approach when dealing with non-standard situations. He breaks down complex issues into the key elements, and articulates these in an accessible way. In chairing meetings, he has a warm personal style, and fosters an environment in which every voice is heard. His work as trustee has included investment strategy reviews, end game planning, funding valuations, sale of illiquid assets, DC transitions, scheme mergers, adviser reviews and budget setting, discretionary increases, member cases and surplus sharing arrangements.

Prior to joining LawDeb, Lok spent 24 years at Willis Towers Watson, where he has worked extensively on both the asset side as an investment consultant and the liability side as an actuary.  His areas of specialism included journey planning, de-risking, LDI and CDI strategies, fiduciary management mandates and settlement transactions. He was also a member on the Integrated Risk Management Working Party for the Faculty & Institute of Actuaries.

Lok holds a First Class MA Degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, and is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Outside of work, Lok spends far too much time playing chess online instead of attending to his “Dadmin” duties.
