James Henderson

Joint Portfolio Manager

James is the joint portfolio manager. He is an employee of Janus Henderson Investors and is not a Law Debenture director.

He first became involved in the management of Law Debenture’s portfolio in 1994 and took over sole management of the portfolio in June 2003. He was assisted by Laura Foll from 2011 until August 2019, when Laura became joint manager.

James Henderson joined Henderson in 1983 and has been an investment trust portfolio manager since 1990, managing Lowland Investment Company plc since then and Henderson Opportunities Trust plc since January 2007. He also manages the Janus Henderson UK Equity and Growth Fund.

James is very much a value driven fund manager and seeks out opportunities among large, medium and small companies where he believes that stocks are trading more cheaply than they should, based on management’s performance and the prospects for the company.
James is a passionate advocate of the prospects for equities over other investments in the long term.
