Sankar Mahalingham promotes two to support him as Managing Director of Law Debenture’s Pensions Business

Law Debenture is pleased to announce two appointments from within the Pensions team, led by recently appointed Managing Director, Sankar Mahalingham.

Jane Beverley has been appointed to Head of Trusteeship, a new role, and Mark Williamson will take on the role of Head of Pegasus. Scott Pinder will continue in his role as Head of Corporate Sole Trustee.

Jane Beverley is a Trustee Director within the business and has led the LawDeb Pensions Training and Development programme for a number of years. She is a well-known face in the industry having been Head of Research at XPS prior to LawDeb, and a contributor to many industry committees, in particular the ACA and the 100 Group. She is a qualified actuary with nearly 25 years' experience in the pensions industry and will continue to act as chair and co-trustee on several pension schemes alongside her new role.

Mark Williamson has been a senior member of the Pegasus team since 2022 and leads the Endgame Solutions workstream. Mark joined LawDeb from JTI, where he served as a Pensions Manager for just over nine years. During his tenure Mark served as project lead on initiatives such as Pension Increase Exchange, GMP Rectification, system migration, large site closures, closure of DB schemes to future accrual, bringing DC scheme administration in-house, as well as DC and DB Investment Strategy reviews.

Sankar has worked closely with Jane, Mark and Scott since he joined the business in 2021, and all three will report to him as members of the Pensions’ Leadership Team.

This team will build on LawDeb’s success in delivering pensions trusteeship and governance services to our clients. Sankar’s role will see him lead a team of 55 pension professionals, working across 220 schemes, governing pensions for approximately 10% of the UK’s population. A significant element of his role will involve strengthening LawDeb’s network across the pensions industry.

There will be further announcements over the coming weeks as Law Debenture’s Pension Business formalises its new team, building on the innovative team approach so valued by its clients.
