Law Debenture announces new Director of Pegasus, provider of outsourced pension executive services

Pegasus, a Law Debenture company providing outsourced pensions executive services, announces the appointment of Sankar Mahalingham as Director with immediate effect.  

With over 25 years’ experience in the pensions industry and a pensions actuary by background, Sankar has held a number of senior positions across in-house and consultancy roles, most recently as a Director at Deloitte, expanding the company’s UK pensions business.

As Head of Pegasus, Sankar will lead the business’ team of pensions professionals based in London and Manchester, to deliver cost-effective outsourced pensions solutions to both multi-million and larger multi-billion pound pension schemes.

Pegasus offers independent outsourced pensions executive services, including pensions management and secretarial support, to pension scheme trustees and corporates. Its services are designed to deliver a well-thought out strategy supported by strong governance and efficient operations.  In under three years Pegasus has tripled its headcount to 15 pension professionals while continuing to attract new clients.

Sankar will also work closely with Michael Chatterton, Managing Director of LawDeb Pension Trustees, and his team of 21 trustee directors. The two businesses, whilst independent of each other, have the same parent company and share many clients. Their excellent working relationship has ensured the effective delivery of Pegasus’ services to over 40 shared clients in the past 12 months alone.

Prior to Deloitte, Sankar was Head of DB Growth at XPS Pensions Group, where he was responsible for growth activities including business development, developing and delivering solutions to clients’ issues and bringing together stakeholders across 15 different offices. In addition, Sankar previously worked as Head of Group Pensions at both RSA Insurance Group and Towers Watson and Mercer.
