Chair of the Pensions Committee joins Law Debenture to boost its Irish offer

Law Debenture (‘LawDeb’), a leading provider of independent professional services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Torsney as Head of Trustee Services in Ireland. In his role, Paul will be providing professional trustee and executive services to pension schemes. This hire represents LawDeb’s ongoing expansion in Ireland, and demonstrates the company’s continued progress against its growth strategy.

A seasoned pensions professional with over 14 years’ experience in the sector, Paul is the current Chair of the Pensions Committee and a member of the Council of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. He joins LawDeb from Willis Towers Watson, where he worked as a Director and Consulting Actuary. He has experience advising companies and trustees on their pension provision, while specialising in scheme actuary functions, assisting trustees in wind-up projects and developing solutions to meet the challenge of increasing governance.

Paul’s deep sector expertise will not only help grow LawDeb’s presence in Ireland, but also showcase the firm’s collaborative and innovative approach to client requirements. LawDeb first established a presence in Ireland in 2017, providing premier corporate and trustee services for financial services, asset management, structured finance and aviation clients amongst others.

Paul obtained a B.A. in Theoretical Physics from Trinity College Dublin before completing a M.Sc. in Financial and Industrial Mathematics from Dublin City University and a Master of Advanced Study in Mathematics from Cambridge.
