Sally Minchella
Trustee Director
I am a qualified actuary with over 20 years’ experience in the pensions industry working with both trustees and sponsors. My particular areas of expertise include funding; de-risking; GMP equalisation; DC arrangements; and inclusion and diversity.
I currently sit on the boards of a multi-billion pound DB and DC scheme and an open DB scheme developing a long term journey plan, as well as chairing a benefits committee and GMP project group, and sitting on a further DC and benefits sub-committee and a number of further GMP project groups and is working on a number of other schemes across a range of projects, including buy-ins and buyouts and transfer of DC to Master Trust.
Prior to joining LawDeb, I was a Senior Director in the Retirement team at Willis Towers Watson, providing advice in relation to schemes ranging from £15m to £2bn. These included agreeing valuations, developing long term funding strategies, scheme design projects, as well as being scheme actuary to several offshore arrangements. I am also a specialist in GMP Equalisation, involved in developing Willis Towers Watson’s approach to GMP equalisation and conversion across actuarial, data, and administration.
I was shortlisted for 'Most Inspiring Returner' at the Professional Pensions Women in Pensions awards 2018 and nominated as ‘Pensions Woman of the Year’ in 2019.
A Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries with a PMI Certificate in Pension Trusteeship and a BSc (Hons) Mathematics Statistics, Operational Research and Economics from the University of Warwick, I enjoy spending time with her 3 kids and trail running, especially in the mountains, in my spare time.
